Plain-language, like everything else here: what information we collect, why, and what your rights are.

SEND Experts at Hand is an independent SEND consultancy serving education settings and families across the Midlands and Home Counties, UK. For anything in this policy, contact us at hello@sendexpertsathand.co.uk. We are the "data controller" for the personal information described below.
Enquiry and contact forms. When you contact us we ask for your name, email address, and — optionally — a phone number, your setting or role, and anything you choose to tell us about your situation. We use this solely to respond to your enquiry and provide the service you've asked about.
Information about children. Our work often involves information about children with special educational needs and disabilities. Please share only what you're comfortable with in an initial enquiry — detail can always come later, once we're working together. Any information about a child is treated as confidential, used only for the purpose you shared it, and never used for marketing.
AISK guide downloads. If you request a guide by email, we collect your email address to send it to you. We will never sell or share your email address.
What we don't collect. This website sets no cookies, runs no analytics, and uses no advertising or social-media trackers.
Under UK GDPR we rely on: legitimate interests (responding to enquiries you send us), contract (delivering services you've engaged us for), and consent (sending you a guide you've requested, or occasional updates about new guides — which you can withdraw at any time by replying "unsubscribe"). Where our work involves information about a child's health or needs, we handle it as special category data, with confidentiality obligations that continue after our work ends.
No one, in the ordinary course. We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information. Two narrow exceptions: our associate professionals, where you've engaged a service that involves them (and only what they need for that work), and where the law requires disclosure — including our safeguarding obligations, which take precedence over confidentiality where a child is at risk.
Our website is hosted by Vercel Inc.; standard server logs (such as IP addresses) are processed by them to deliver the site. Page fonts are served by Google Fonts, which involves your browser requesting files from Google's servers.
Enquiries that don't lead to work: up to 12 months, then deleted. Client records: for the duration of our work together and up to 6 years afterwards (in line with professional and insurance requirements). Email addresses collected for guide downloads: until you unsubscribe.
You can ask us at any time to: access the personal information we hold about you, correct it, delete it, restrict how we use it, or provide it to you in a portable format. You can also object to processing based on legitimate interests, and withdraw consent where consent is our basis. Email hello@sendexpertsathand.co.uk and we'll respond within one month.
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, you have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113 — though we'd welcome the chance to put things right first.
If how we handle personal information changes, this page will be updated and the date at the top revised. Significant changes affecting existing clients will be communicated directly.
